Dr. Cheryl Smith Cotter graduated with High Honors and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Science at the University of Florida in 1987. She completed medical school with High Honors at the University of Florida in 1990 and remained there in the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery for her residency in Otolaryngology. In 1995 she moved to Boston to complete a pediatric otolaryngology fellowship through Harvard Medical School at Children's Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts.
Kayse was raised in Massachusetts, where she completed both her undergraduate and graduate degrees. She completed her nursing degrees at MGH Institute of Health Professions in Boston. Kayse graduated from both her undergraduate and graduate programs with highest honors, then spent her first three years as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner as an Active Duty Air Force member stationed at Hill Air Force Base in Utah. After completion of her Air Force commitment and separating from her military duties honorably, she and her husband moved from Utah to Florida to embark on a new adventure.
Shawna was born and raised in Central Florida. Since she was a young child, her dream was to work in pediatrics, following in the footsteps of her beloved pediatrician, Dr. Carter.
Dr. Aranda was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She was raised in Gainesville, Florida. She graduated from the University of Florida in 2012 with a Bachelor's of Health Science in Public Health and Health Professions. She earned her Doctorate of Audiology at the University of Florida in 2017. She completed her clinical externship in Audiology at the UF Health Speech and Hearing Center.
Dr. Chiles has been practicing as a pediatric audiologist for 6 years. She was born and raised in South Florida and is a fluent, native speaker of Spanish. Dr. Chiles is a proud alumna of the University of Central Florida, from which she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communicative Disorders, as well as certificates in Spanish Translation/Interpretation and American Sign Language. She went on to obtain her Doctor of Audiology degree from the University of South Florida, where her student training included a wide variety of clinical settings in the Tampa Bay area, including All Children's Hospital outpatient center. It was this experience that sparked her passion of working with children.
Dr. Loomis was born and raised in south Florida. She graduated from the University of Florida in 2002 with her Bachelor of Arts in Communication Sciences and Disorders. While at the University of Florida, she played trumpet in the Fightin' Gator Marching Band. Her musical background played a major role in her decision to focus her studies on hearing science. She earned her Doctorate in Audiology at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. In 2005, Dr. Loomis returned to Florida to complete her clinical externship in audiology at Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children in Orlando.
Dr. Joshua Gottschall grew up in Long Island, New York. He attended the University of Florida where he graduated with honors and earned a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology in 1995. He was awarded a Medical Doctorate at the State University of New York, Downstate College of Medicine in 1999.
Dr. Eric Jaryszak was born in Hammond, Indiana. He grew up in the Midwest, attending Wabash College where he was a Cum Laude graduate with a double major in Chemistry and Mathematics. He was a four-time letterman in basketball where he was a member of 2 NCAA tournament and conference championship teams. He completed a combined M.D./Ph.D. program at the Indiana University School of Medicine in 2004 where he was awarded membership in the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. His research in pulmonary physiology has been presented on an international level.
Gina was born and raised in South Florida, before moving to Orlando to attend college at the University of Central Florida. After graduating with her BSN in 2005, she started her nursing career in the ICU and loved the challenge of caring for critically ill patients. After a few years, she joined the NICU team at Winnie Palmer Hospital and spent nearly 5 years caring for premature and critically ill infants and assisting in high risk deliveries.
Dr. James Kosko was born in Pittsburgh, PA. He is a fourth generation steel worker and was a union member prior to his medical career. He graduated with a BS degree in Pre-Med from Penn State University where he was a varsity letterman. He received his MD degree from the University of Pittsburgh. He completed his Otolaryngology training at the Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, VA. Dr. Kosko moved to Baltimore in 1995 to pursue a Pediatric Otolaryngology fellowship at the Johns Hopkins Medical School.
